Mercy Medical Center - Durango, Colorado

Architectural Nexus was recently commissioned to design a new 350,000 S.F. health care facility consisting of 230,000 S.F. of hospital and 120,000 S.F. of Medical Office Building space. This 80 bed replacement hospital, which is designed with the ability to double in size for future growth, is a three story building that blends into hillside ground with smaller support buildings on the same campus.

The use of green space is an integral portion of the project, utilizing much of the surrounding beauty and natural space surrounding the site. The building was designed using the LEED certification score card as a reference for addressing several environmental issues.
